The Crypt is a well established Pre-school, which has been run by a Committee since it opened in 1970. It is situated in a residential area, close to local schools and within easy walking distance of Falmouth Town centre. The Playroom operates from The Crypt of St. Mary’s Church with its own level access, kitchen, children’s toilet area, and outdoor play space. The outside play area is accessible from the main playroom allowing free flow play.
The Crypt Pre-school is within walking distance of Kimberley Park, which we visit regularly to explore the large grounds, pond and play area. The children learn the importance of exercise and how to be healthy whilst developing their physical skills.
The group opens five days a week, term time only:-
Monday to Thursday 08.30 am to 3.30 pm
Friday 08.30 am to 2 pm
Full day care, morning and after sessions, hours agreed upon registration
The Pre-school employs six permanent members of staff, and bank staff. All permanent and bank staff have Early Years qualifications, Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4, and we also welcome students/volunteers.
Each session has a maximum of 20 children. Children attend for a variety of sessions. The Pre-school supports children with special needs, children who speak English as an additional language and children with other cultural backgrounds.
